About Chess

Chess is a two-player strategy game with origins going back over 1,500 years. Each side commands 16 pieces with unique movement rules, and the goal is to checkmate the opponent's king. This browser version implements the full ruleset — castling, en passant, pawn promotion, and check/checkmate detection.

You play as White against a computer opponent. The AI evaluates positions using minimax with basic heuristics, making it a good opponent for casual play and practice.
